Hong Kong proposes cooling-off period for beauty, gym deals to curb hard-sell tactics
Hong Kong has proposed a seven-day cooling-off period and a 14-day refund window for prepaid beauty and fitness contracts to combat unfair trade practices and high-pressure sales tactics. The measures aim to strengthen consumer protection and address enforcement gaps under the Trade Descriptions Ordinance through a two-month public consultation.
