Homeowner fatally shot in confrontation with Livonia police after call about house explosion

A 61-year-old Livonia man was fatally shot by police during a confrontation after responding to reports of a house explosion and fire. Officers found him armed in a neighbor’s backyard, and he was shot after allegedly raising his weapon toward an officer. Michigan State Police are investigating the incident.
