French Quarter businesses file suit over Decatur Street construction
French Quarter businesses along Decatur Street filed a lawsuit against the New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board, alleging that a 10-month construction project has blocked access, reduced sales, and forced closures. The plaintiffs seek an injunction to remove barricades, restore pedestrian access, and suspend billing for affected businesses, as the city recently announced a $200,000 stabilization fund for impacted businesses.
