EU halves duty-free steel quota but UK and other partners given better rate
The EU has halved its duty-free steel import quota to curb cheap Chinese steel, but granted 12 free trade agreement (FTA) partners, including the UK, a one-third reduction instead of the full cut. The policy aims to limit foreign steel imports while offering preferential terms to FTA countries.
