Massive tree felling and illegal construction pose threat to CHR lands in Idukki
Around 296 acres of land in Idukki, claimed by local and Tamil Nadu residents, is being cleared under the guise of cardamom farming. The Forest department has registered three cases for rare tree felling, but illegal activities persist, raising concerns about landslides and wildlife habitat destruction.
