Pakistan calls for release, repatriation of 97 prisoners who have completed sentences in Indian jails

Pakistan urged India to release and repatriate 97 Pakistani prisoners who have completed their sentences in Indian jails. The request is part of a biannual prisoner list exchange under the 2008 Agreement on Consular Access, with Pakistan also sharing a list of 250 Indian prisoners in its custody. The Pakistan-India Judicial Committee on Prisoners, established in 2007, has been inactive since 2013 due to tensions.
