Man shot in head, critically wounded during attack near 31st Street Beach

A man was shot in the head and critically wounded near 31st Street Beach in the Douglas neighborhood. Chicago police and fire department personnel responded, transporting him to the University of Chicago Medical Center. No arrests were made, and Area 1 detectives are investigating the incident.
