Rio Turns Its Winter Into a $1.4 Billion Tourist Season

Rio expects winter tourism to generate R$7.4bn ($1.43bn) between July and September 2026, with 2.8 million tourists forecasted—representing a 5% increase among Brazilians and 15% among foreigners. This marks a 7.8% real growth compared to the R$6.9bn ($1.36bn) recorded in the winter of 2025.
