Hong Kong issues No 1 typhoon signal on Thursday morning
Hong Kong issued the No 1 typhoon signal at 7:40am on Thursday as an approaching tropical cyclone moved south of the city. The cyclone's center was approximately 800 kilometers from Hong Kong, and authorities may assess raising the No 3 strong wind signal by Friday.
