The Riviera Maya’s Record Sargassum Season: Where the Clean Beaches Are
Quintana Roo has recorded its largest sargassum cleanup, removing about 72,700 tonnes statewide by late June, with Playa del Carmen accounting for roughly 26,000 tonnes. Authorities project more sargassum to be cleared in the coming weeks.
