The Kerala High Court directed the Law Secretary and Cabinet Secretary to appear unless progress is made on the draft anti-ragging amendment Bill, which has been pending for over a year. The Election Commission of India had approved a Cabinet meeting to finalize the draft during Kerala Assembly elections, and the new State government was given three weeks to act on the Bill starting June 10.
