Papua separatist rebels killed an American pilot, Nicholas F Gosselin, and set his civilian plane on fire in the Yahukimo region of Highland Papua province. The West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) described the attack as a 'message' to the US and Indonesian governments.
