Novice climber rescued after surviving 1,500ft fall down California mountain
A 31-year-old novice climber was rescued after surviving a 1,500ft fall on Mount Shasta, California, while attempting the Left of Heart variation of the Avalanche Gulch route with two other climbers at approximately 13,000ft elevation. Officials reported she was alert and in good spirits despite sustaining injuries.
