Will China’s Fujian be first carrier to carry anti-torpedo system to beat Western subs?
China’s Fujian aircraft carrier, commissioned in November, is likely the first carrier equipped with an anti-torpedo torpedo (ATT) system, a hard-kill capability claimed to be world-leading by a Chinese military magazine. The Fujian is the third carrier and first entirely designed in China for the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, featuring a six-tube 324mm lightweight torpedo launcher.
