MCSO: 3 escape injury after sleeping driver plunges vehicle into water off Sugarloaf Key

Three people escaped injury after a driver who fell asleep at the wheel drove a vehicle into the water off Sugarloaf Key. The vehicle was located 100 to 150 feet offshore in the Harris Gap Channel, and Anchor Towing was called to recover it. All occupants safely exited the vehicle, and boats remained able to pass through the channel during recovery efforts.
