Dyker Heights teen ends 16-month long battle with cancer, surprised by Brooklyn Cyclones
Fourteen-year-old Julian Baquero of Brooklyn completed a 16-month battle with high-risk pre-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and was celebrated with a surprise ceremony by the Brooklyn Cyclones, who gifted him a customized jersey, VIP tickets, and an invitation to throw out a ceremonial first pitch. He expressed gratitude to his medical team at Maimonides Children’s Hospital, where he rang the ceremonial bell to mark the end of chemotherapy.
