Hugo woman pleads guilty to threatening House Speaker Lisa Demuth

Rachel Marie Welsch, a 43-year-old Hugo resident, pleaded guilty to threatening House Speaker Lisa Demuth via voicemails that included references to firearms and violent language. She faces up to five years in prison and is scheduled for sentencing on Sept. 10. Demuth emphasized the importance of addressing threats against public officials in a statement.
