Militants kill 9 police officers in attack on post in southwest Pakistan
Militants attacked a police post in Ziarat district, Balochistan province, killing nine police officers and wounding others. Eight abducted officers were later recovered. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are suspected, while Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi accused Indian-backed militants, a claim India denies.
