Sigcho-Lopez’s Lawyer Urges Elections Board To Allow Ballot Access After Signature Challenge
Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez's lawyer requested the Illinois Board of Elections to grant ballot access after signature challenges left him and independent candidate Mayra Macias short of the required 10,816 signatures. Sigcho-Lopez and Macias accused outgoing congressman Jesús 'Chuy' García and Patty Garcia of using 'machine politics' to block their ballot inclusion.
