New Agasthyamalai eviction orders continue to silence Forest Rights Act
The Forest Rights Act (FRA) does not require traditional forest-dwellers to have occupied land for three generations before 2005 or prohibit all commercial activities on forest lands. However, the administration and judiciary have hindered its implementation by applying these requirements.
