Young giraffe dies at Detroit Zoo after injury from interaction with herd members
A young giraffe named Nguvu died at the Detroit Zoo after sustaining severe injuries during an interaction with herd members on August 1. This is the second such incident at the zoo this year, following the euthanasia of another young giraffe, Okidi, in February due to injuries from a habitat viewing panel collision.
