Prosecutors drop DWI charge against former Peñitas cop who passed out behind the wheel

Prosecutors dropped a drunken driving charge against Joseph James Granchelli, a former police officer who passed out behind the wheel. The Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office officially dropped the case after he completed a “Drug & Alcohol Awareness Class.”
