All Australian immigration detainees to be handcuffed while travelling, US company says after spate of escapes

An American private prison company operating Australia's immigration detention centers has ordered all detainees to be handcuffed during travel, regardless of risk level, following multiple escape incidents. The Management and Training Corporation (MTC) manages the system under a $2.3bn contract with Australia's Department of Home Affairs.
