Killer ex-cop executed for child's slaying as sheriff says he’s sure same monster murdered another girl
James Duckett was executed by lethal injection on July 28 for the rape and murder of Teresa McAbee while he worked as an officer for the Mascotte Police Department. Authorities also believed that Duckett killed Jeanifer Weldon, who disappeared three months later in September 1987. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd stated that law enforcement stopped pushing charges regarding Weldon’s killing once Duckett was sentenced for McAbee’s murder.
