Federal judge dismisses Trump administration lawsuit against Washtenaw County’s sanctuary policies

A federal judge in the Eastern District of Michigan dismissed a lawsuit alleging that Washtenaw County's "sanctuary policies" were illegal. Judge F. Kay Behm stated that the government cannot compel localities to enforce its will or conscript local officials. The court concluded that Washtenaw County was merely exercising its constitutional authority under the Tenth Amendment.
