Trump is dropping the ball in Venezuela — he needs a new plan
A military raid in America on Jan. 3 seized and removed Venezuelan ruler Nicolas Maduro, though this action was deemed only a change to the corrupt regime’s public face. The underlying political strategy of the Trump administration was criticized as being flawed from the start. Furthermore, U.S. acquiescence simply empowered Maduro’s former subordinates, allowing the Chavista gang itself to remain in power.
