Ten Massachusetts communities adopted 'fossil fuel free' policies banning gas hookups in new construction and major renovations. Despite these efforts, utilities Eversource and National Grid spent $100 million upgrading gas infrastructure in nine of these communities since the policies were enacted, primarily to replace leaky pipes under the state's Gas System Enhancement Plan.

In Massachusetts towns Acton and Boxborough, electric school buses will charge their 200-kilowatt-hour batteries overnight during summer and feed energy into the grid. The buses will remain parked in a lot after the school year ends but will not remain idle.

A man was arrested after five people were assaulted and stabbed in west London. The incident occurred on Horn Lane in Acton, as confirmed by police.
