Armed Carjacking

A Buffalo Grove man has been charged as the second suspect in a Wheaton armed carjacking and 100 mph police chase. Prosecutors have ordered him held in connection with the incident.

Rommel Delfin Querol, 44, was killed in a police shootout in Vallejo, California, after being identified as the driver of a stolen car involved in an armed carjacking at 12:19 p.m. in the 400 block of Ryder Street.

An armed carjacking led to a police pursuit, crash, foot chase, and assault on officers in Charlotte. A 22-year-old man reported the incident near the 6900 block of Sullins Road, and officers later located the stolen vehicle.

Two Chicago men are facing felony charges after being accused of hijacking a man’s vehicle at gunpoint. The incident occurred on the northwest side of Chicago.

His sentence was enhanced due to three previous convictions for crimes of violence.
