Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Baidoa to attend the inauguration of the newly installed leadership of South West State.

Somalia's House of the People Speaker, Aden Mohamed Nur Madobe, was elected president of South West State in a parliamentary vote. The regional election commission confirmed his landslide victory.
