Sistema Huautla in Oaxaca, Mexico, is the deepest cave in the Western Hemisphere at 1,560 meters deep and over 101 kilometers mapped. Discovered in 1966 by Austin cavers, it features 30 entrances, massive underground spaces, and ongoing exploration by international volunteers. Scientific studies in geology, biology, and paleoclimatology are conducted alongside mapping efforts.
