A Culpeper couple, Louis and Gail Chevalier, are charged with malicious wounding after attacking their 73-year-old neighbor with a hammer and leaf blower during a property dispute. The victim suffered a skull fracture, concussion, and possible permanent injuries, requiring hospitalization. Forensic evidence and witness accounts indicate the attack involved multiple strikes to the head and a bitten finger.

A fire destroyed Zandra’s Taqueria in downtown Culpeper, leaving the restaurant as a total loss. Owner Miguel Pires confirmed no injuries and expressed gratitude to emergency responders, while the community has shown support since the restaurant opened in late 2023.
