Cafe Valera will open at the Humboldt Park Boathouse following the approval of its concession application by the Chicago Park District. The 50 Yard Line, a South Side bar on 75th Street, was ordered closed by Chicago city officials after failing a building inspection with nine code violations, including missing carbon monoxide alarms, unsanitary kitchen conditions, water leaks, and structural issues like rotted rafters. The closure remains in effect until the owner addresses the cited dangerous and hazardous violations.
