    34% of Hong Kong students win university, diploma spots under admissions system

    34% of Hong Kong students who applied through the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (Jupas) secured tertiary education places this year, a slight drop from last year. The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the University of Hong Kong (HKU) each offered places to half of the 24 top scorers in this year’s Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE).

    Hong Kong Secondary Six students received their Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) results, with 24 top scorers achieving perfect grades in six subjects. The exam uses a seven-level grading scale, and 14 male and 10 female students attained the highest marks along with an 'attained' result in citizenship.

    Record 24 DSE students score perfect marks as university eligibility rate dips

    A record 24 students from 15 schools in Hong Kong scored perfect marks in the Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) exams, up from 17 the previous year. However, the university eligibility rate for day-school candidates fell to 36.8 per cent. The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority released these results.
