A 54-year-old registered sex offender, Leroy Loper, has been charged with murder and kidnapping in the death of Robin Doyle, whose body was found in Catawba County. Doyle was reported missing on July 28, and Loper, already in custody for unrelated sex offender violations, was identified as a person of interest two days later.
