- Michigan State University names interim athletic director
Michigan State University has appointed Jon Palumbo as interim athletic director following former athletic director J Batt's departure. Palumbo, currently serving as MSU’s executive deputy athletics director and chief operating officer, will continue as CEO of Spartan Ventures and seek a board member replacement during his interim tenure.

- Braves acquire former Georgia Tech star Joey Bart from Pirates
The Atlanta Braves traded for catcher Joey Bart from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for pitcher Hunter Stratton. The Braves designated Sandy León for assignment to make roster space. Bart, a Georgia Tech alumnus, was activated from the injured list and is set as the backup catcher behind Drake Baldwin.
