Godavari River

Floodwater in the Sabari and Godavari rivers has receded, providing relief to over 10,000 families. The reduction in water levels has eased the crisis for affected communities.

The Godavari drinking water project in Nidadavolu has begun, aiming to supply water from the Godavari River via Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage to every household in the municipality by January 2028, as announced by Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh.

Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has directed District Collectors to ensure that 268 gram panchayats do not discharge sewage into the Godavari River during the 'Godavari Pushkaralu' event next year. The focus is on making the religious festival pollution-free.
