Democratic members of the House Homeland Security Committee reported that one ICE officer has been referred for discipline over a use of force incident since the Trump administration began. The briefing followed two shootings where ICE officers killed immigrants during arrests, raising concerns about oversight of the agency's deportation operations.

The FBI is transferring immigration agent cases to HSI following recent fatal shootings, according to sources. HSI, an arm of ICE, will now investigate incidents involving its own agents.
