    Security forces killed Amir Mauviya, the mastermind of the July 30 Hangu police checkpost attack that killed nine police officials.     Militants attack a Pakistani police post and kill 5 officers in a northwestern province

    Militants attacked a police post in Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan, killing five officers and wounding about two dozen others. Four attackers were killed during the gunbattle, with suspicion falling on the Pakistani Taliban (TTP). Pakistan’s military reported killing 32 militants in recent operations across the country.
