The New Mexico Supreme Court ruled body camera footage of a woman confessing to hiding her newborn in a hospital trash can cannot be used in her murder trial due to doctor-patient confidentiality. The court also excluded surveillance and bodycam footage, stating her medical information was disclosed without her consent during a compromised condition.

The New Mexico Supreme Court ruled that a teenager's statements made in an emergency room during labor cannot be used as evidence in her case. The court found she lacked capacity to waive her physician-patient privilege while medically compromised and under medication.
