High Pressure Ridge

Pasadena will experience high temperatures in the mid-90s through Friday due to a strong ridge of high pressure, with cooler temperatures and a slight chance of showers expected this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles.

Increased rain chances and improved air quality are expected as thunderstorms develop across the foothills and plains, with potential severe weather including damaging winds and hail. A heatwave with temperatures near 100 degrees is forecast for late in the week.

The Charlotte region will experience rising temperatures and humidity this week, with heat index reaching the mid to upper 90s and scattered thunderstorms expected Friday. A heat dome next week could push temperatures into the upper 90s to near 100 degrees, with feels-like temperatures exceeding 105 degrees.

Summertime heat and humidity return to the Charlotte region, with temperatures rising to the low to mid-90s by Thursday and mid to upper-90s over the weekend. Tropical humidity will make 'feels like' temperatures near or exceed 100 degrees, accompanied by scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Southern Colorado is expected to experience another round of severe storms today, following previous storms along and east of the Interstate 25 corridor that brought hail, strong winds, and heavy rainfall. A flattening ridge of high pressure in the upper atmosphere is contributing to the active weather conditions.
