The Gujarat government has ordered the withdrawal of cases against students and others who participated in protests related to the NEET paper leak. The Home department instructed police to avoid legal action against protesters.

Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram Mayor used a United Democratic Front government circular to grant six months leave to councillor R. Sugathan, who is jailed under KAAPA. The Home department rejected the leave application but suggested approaching the Corporation council through the jail superintendent.

Several officers in Karnataka have been given additional charges. Rajender Kumar Kataria, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department, has been entrusted with the concurrent role of Additional Chief Secretary for the Home Department.
