IMD issued an orange alert for seven Kerala districts — Kasaragod, Kannur, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha — on August 6. The remaining seven districts are under a yellow alert for isolated heavy rain.

The death toll from Kerala floods in 2026 has risen to 11, with over 7,600 people in relief camps.
