International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

Sharnbasva University and Police Commissionerate in Kalaburagi are marking the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to urge youth participation in the anti-drug fight.

Minister P. C. Vishnunadh stated the state is waging an uncompromising battle against narcotics. He spoke after inaugurating an anti-drug awareness rally organized by Kollam Rural Police at Elampalloor SNSM Higher Secondary School linked to the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Myanmar authorities burned over $600 million worth of seized illegal drugs, including heroin, methamphetamine, ketamine, marijuana, and opium, during nationwide events commemorating the U.N.'s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the country's commitment to combating drug abuse and illicit trafficking, emphasizing the need to protect youth from narcotics. They highlighted challenges like synthetic drugs, digital platforms used by criminal networks, and the role of social media in normalizing drug use.

Anitha emphasized the need to protect youth from drug abuse, calling it a serious threat to the nation's future. She praised the police for achieving 'zero ganja cultivation' during an event commemorating International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
