Zcash researchers published over 2,700 machine-checked theorems to eliminate undetectable counterfeiting bugs in Ironwood. The theorems aim to ensure the security of Zcash's cryptographic protocols against such vulnerabilities.

Zcash has activated the Ironwood upgrade, introducing a new shielded pool following a vulnerability discovered in Orchard by Shielded Labs. The upgrade represents a collaborative effort across Zcash’s developer ecosystem.

Michigan rural hospitals are closing or cutting services, including Sturgis Hospital which shut down after 100 years. Over 200 rural hospitals nationwide have closed or reduced services since 2005, with 11 in Michigan ending labor and delivery since 2010. Financial strain, lower reimbursements for Medicare/Medicaid, and the One Big Beautiful Bill Act’s projected $1 trillion Medicaid cuts are cited as key factors.

Zcash’s Ironwood upgrade may be delayed due to infrastructure readiness concerns. Shielded Labs noted exchanges, mining pools, and wallets require additional time to complete the Z3 software migration before safely preparing for Ironwood.

Zcash teams propose Ironwood pool to address a flaw in the Orchard pool by closing it to new activity and routing funds through a turnstile into a new shielded pool.
