    Sheriff's K9 hit, killed by car after firework startles dog

    An off-duty Fresno County Sheriff’s Office K9, Santi, was hit and killed by a car after a firework startled the dog, causing it to run into the street on the Fourth of July. Santi was a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois who served with the sheriff’s office.
