Betting firms Sportsbet and Tabcorp deny allegations that account managers sourced drugs and sex workers to incentivize vulnerable people to bet more, as claimed by anti-gambling campaigners Tim Costello and Luke Bateman during a parliamentary inquiry. Luke Bateman alleges gambling companies supplied him with cocaine and alcohol during a private Gold Coast event, claiming the industry lacks duty of care. He stated his gambling addiction cost him approximately $1m and testified before a parliamentary inquiry.
