    Macomb County inmate charged with first-degree murder after deadly cellmate attack

    A 50-year-old inmate, Aaron Samir Akel, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of his 73-year-old cellmate, Daniel Hosmer, at Macomb County Correctional Facility. Hosmer was strangled and stabbed with a broomstick handle, and Akel faces additional charges including possession of a weapon by a prisoner and habitual offender status.
