Nashville Downtown Partnership

The Nashville Downtown Partnership plans to add more public restrooms in downtown Nashville using $1.2 million from a state grant. The initiative aims to address a lack of restroom access, with public input sought at a meeting on August 11. Independent firm Pillars Development will study optimal locations for the facilities.

Nashville city leaders are collaborating with the Nashville Downtown Partnership and Pillars Development to plan new public restrooms downtown. Currently, the only public restrooms in the area are located in parks, the library, and the Bridgestone Arena.

A public meeting is scheduled for August 11, with additional engagement opportunities planned.

Metro Nashville’s insurance company has filed a $10 million lawsuit against the Nashville Downtown Partnership over a summer fire in a downtown parking garage near the main library. The lawsuit alleges the partnership failed to properly oversee Block by Block, a property management company that stored hazardous materials and allowed smoking, leading to a fire that caused the library’s nine-month closure and ongoing garage repairs.
