Mary Ann Miller, a Noongar woman and mother of seven, died of sepsis in Fiona Stanley Hospital on 28 March, two weeks after giving birth. She became homeless to avoid an allegedly abusive ex-partner and had been evicted from public housing, with her family alleging the Western Australian government was aware of her domestic violence situation weeks prior.
