A bridge collapse in northern India has resulted in at least six people feared dead.

Duststorms and lightning have killed at least 96 people in northern India, a region where storms are common from March to June before the annual monsoon rains arrive. The storms occur annually in this time frame. Northern India is prone to such natural disasters during this period.

India's weather department has issued heatwave warnings in parts of northern India as temperatures exceed 40°C, prompting public health and safety concerns.
